At BKC Media in Coolangatta, we believe in nurturing emerging talent, and our recent experience with Isaac Nichol, a digital media student from Southern Cross University, has been nothing short of exceptional. Isaac recently completed a 10-week work experience placement with our agency, leaving a significant mark on our team and our projects.
A Remarkable Contribution
From day one, Isaac demonstrated an impressive work ethic and a proactive approach. He quickly became an integral part of our daily operations, actively seeking out tasks and consistently delivering high-quality work.
As Brendan Keevers, Director of BKC Media, remarked, “Isaac performed exceptionally well and fit into our culture seamlessly. He was very active in looking for tasks and produced great quality work. During his time, he upskilled himself well into the fields of marketing we specialise in here at BKC Media. He is an avid learner and had good attention to detail, even producing a brand video for the agency while he was here.”

Isaac’s own reflections highlight the value of his time with us:
“As a part of my digital media degree with Southern Cross University, I was lucky enough to be offered a placement by Brendan and his team at BKC Media,” Isaac shared. “My time at BKC has been fantastic and far exceeded my expectations for my first experience working in a media company. I can definitely say I was a bit nervous before my first day as I wasn’t sure what to expect, but the whole team here at BKC Media has been very welcoming and were very helpful if I had any questions, which made it easy to settle in on my first couple of days.”
His eagerness to learn and contribute was evident in the variety of tasks he embraced:
“My time at BKC has been a great learning experience as I had the chance to work on a number of different projects including some content creation, and they also trusted me to work on some of their client websites with help from the rest of the team whenever I needed it. This showed me how the whole team works together to complete project goals to satisfy their clients. This was also great for me being able to use what I’ve learnt in my university studies in an actual working environment.”
Confidence for the Future
The impact of such practical experience is invaluable for students transitioning into their careers. Isaac’s confidence and perspective on his future prospects have clearly grown:
“Overall, my work placement at BKC Media has been great and far exceeded my expectations for my first job in an office environment. I would highly recommend to other students to do work experience if they can, as it’s a great first step into the working environment which has given me a lot of confidence for the future.”
